This curated five-day itinerary begins in Auckland, New Zealand's bustling 'City of Sails', where you'll collect your vehicle to drive north toward the subtropical warmth. Your main destination is the breathtaking Bay of Islands, where two full days allow for an immersion in its nautical history and the significant heritage of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. Later, travel the scenic route via the magnificent Waipoua Forest, home of Tāne Mahuta (God of the Forest), a majestic kauri tree that must be seen to be believed. The journey culminates in the popular food and wine region of Matakana before your easy return to the city.
